Powering Corn’s Sustainability Story

Corn Farmers Have A Sustainability Story to Tell

Growing 100 million acres of crop in the United States, may sound like “too much” but in today’s global food system, it is rather impressive. The reality is corn farmers provide a reliable, affordable and abundant supply of ingredients, fuel and petroleum replacements for people around the world.

We took on the challenge to tell corn’s sustainability story on behalf of the farmers themselves through the National Corn Growers Association.

The audience for this report? Adjacent industries and customers who could use corn’s progress and commitment to continuous improvement as a talking point for the sustainability of their own products.

While the environmental aspects - soil health, water, resource management - were the major focus of the report, we also addressed the social and economic contributions and efforts of the corn industry.

The report was just released, but the story continues. In fact, corn farmers are extending the reach of the information collected in the report into a campaign to tell their story further.
